††† (Crosses) have returned with two new songs.

The experimental project of Deftones' Chino Moreno and producer and multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez have shared Initiation and Protection, which mark the pair's first original material since 2014, following their covers of Cause And Effect's The Beginning Of The End in 2020, and Q Lazzarus' Goodbye Horses in 2021.

Both tracks find the duo experimenting with woozy, electronic textures, with Moreno's jarring, disconnected vocals layered over the top. The former has more sense of urgency, and is inspired by the iconic The World Is Yours scene from the film Scarface, while Initiation is a slow-burning, lush, atmospheric cut.

Initiation comes paired with a video featuring both band members and Thais Molon, who reprises her role that originally appeared in the previous ††† (Crosses) videos Bitches Brew and The Epilogue.
