Rex Orange County has shared a new song called Threat.
The one-off single follows up his fourth studio album 'Who Cares?', which came out in March, and was penned and produced alongside his friends Teo Halm and Jim Reed. Introducing it online, he said:
"This song was really made for August time… when it’s hot outside. Go be outside, blast this, in the car roll your windows down, blast this."
Anchored by a thumping rhythm, the mellow, funk-leaning summery song arrives ahead of Rex Orange County's sold out show at London's Gunnersbury Park this Saturday (August 13).
The British vocalist, real name Alex O'Connor, recently confirmed that all of his 2022 dates after the UK gig have been called off. Posting a statement on Twitter, he wrote:
"It is with a great deal of sadness to announce that due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I am having to spend some time at home this year and I will not be able to continue with touring as planned.
"This is the last thing I want to do. I love touring and I am so sorry to be letting anyone down. I look forward to getting back to it as soon as I can."
