Weyes Blood has returned with details of a new album.
The follow-up to 2019's 'Titanic Rising' is called 'And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow' and will arrive on November 18 via Sub Pop. It was co-produced primarily with Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, and it features guest appearances from Meg Duffy, Daniel Lopatin, and Mary Lattimore.
The California artist, real name Natalie Mering, says the record is part two of a trilogy that started with its predecessor, 2019's 'Titanic Rising'. In an extensive letter accompanying the LP's announcement, she describes it as, "a search for an escape hatch to liberate us from algorithms and ideological chaos."
As a preview, she's shared the wistful first single, It’s Not Just Me, It's Everybody, an immersive folk-rock song that sprawls through sparkling arrangements of harps, piano, and strings, guided by Mering's serene vocals. Check it out below, alongside the full letter, the record's cover art and tracklist.
She's also announced the In Holy Flux Tour. The UK and European leg will kick off on January 28 in Berlin and finish on February 14 in Brighton. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on September 16.
