Punk Rock Cliché is the latest song to be lifted from the punk veterans' new record, 'Double Album', which is due out on December 2. It follows previous cut Darby Crashing Your Party.
The track finds them delivering pared back verses and earworm punk choruses as they reflect on the shortfalls of their scene: "Who made this mess we once called home?".
Frontman Fat Mike told Spin the track was written with Matt Skiba when he was still in Blink-182. They recorded it during the sessions for their 2016 LP 'California'. However, he claims that when the rest of the band heard that he wrote it with Skiba, they no longer wanted to use it.
A few months ago, Fat Mike revealed that NOFX will break up in 2023, but no further details relating to this have been shared.
