City And Colour, aka Dallas Green, has returned with a new track.
The powerful, heart-wrenching Meant To Be arrives via Still Records, an imprint of Dine Alone Records, and marks the first new music from Green since his 2019 LP 'A Pill For Loneliness', though he did cover Low's Murderer and Sunflower in 2020.
Unfurling around melancholic acoustic guitar, the haunting song serves as an elegy for Green's friend and long-time City And Colour producer Karl Bareham, who drowned off Australia's Gold Coast whilst the band was on a tour there in 2019.
Green wrote the song after being asked to identify Bareham at the morgue, a moment the singer describes as, "the hardest moment I’ve had in my entire life. It changed me forever".
