Shame have dropped a new track, Adderall.
The slow-burning ballad offers an anthemic sing-along chorus, and serves as the final preview of their imminent third album, 'Food For Worms', which is due out this Friday (February 24) via Dead Oceans. Vocalist Charlie Steen commented:
"Adderall is the observation of a person reliant on prescription drugs. These pills shift their mental and physical state and alter their behaviour, it’s about how this affects them and those around them. It’s a song of compassion, frustration and the acceptance of change. It’s partly coming to terms with the fact that sometimes your help and love can’t cure those around you but, as much as it causes exasperation, you still won’t ever stop trying to help."
It arrives ahead of the European leg of the band's upcoming tour, which commences in Dublin on February 28. They also have North American shows in the diary for May, June, September and October.
Other singles set to appear on the follow-up to 2021's 'Drunk Tank Pink' include Fingers Of Steel and Six-Pack.
