Corey Taylor has shared details of his second solo album.
The follow-up to his 2020 debut 'CMFT' is called 'CMF2' and will arrive on September 15 through BMG via Taylor's own imprint Decibel Cooper Recordings.
It was produced by Jay Ruston, of whom Taylor said: "Together we have great ideas, great energy, and are quick to try everything. We’re not afraid to tell each other if it’s a good idea, or also a bad one; we have that kind of trust."
As a preview, head below for the new single Beyond, an aggressive, guitar-charged love song that comes with a video directed by Dale "'Rage" Resteghini, shot in California’s Mojave Desert. Discussing how he wrote the track, Taylor explained:
"I originally wrote it as an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of ‘come together’ song. Bringing the masses together, and letting them know that I want my music to take them beyond what they may think about me. Maybe they’ve had a misconception about me. It’s not exactly a calling card, more like throwing the bat signal up and being ‘alright, let’s turn everything on its head.’ It’s almost a dual threat, because now I look at it from two standpoints."
The Slipknot frontman will support the project with a solo US tour from July, with tickets on general sale at 10am local time this Friday (May 19). He'll also appear at Rocklahoma in Oklahoma, Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Virginia, and Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky in September.
