Bloc Party have announced their biggest headline show to date.
They'll top the bill at Crystal Palace Park in London on July 7, with support coming from The Hives, Friendly Fires, The Mysterines, and Connie Constance. Tickets go on general sale at 10am this Friday (December 8).
The concert will form part of their celebrations next year marking 20 years since they released their first proper single. It will see them play their 2005 debut album 'Silent Alarm' in full, as well as their greatest hits. Frontman Kele Okereke said:
“We've been having so much fun playing shows over the past year, so it makes sense to do something special for old and new fans, celebrating twenty years of Bloc Party. We heard from a lot of people that they couldn't get tickets for the Silent Alarm gigs, so a one-off summer party playing that and the bangers feels like the right thing to do.”
The London band released 'The High Life' EP this summer. Their latest album is 2022's 'Alpha Games', while Okereke put out his new solo LP, 'The Flames pt. 2', in March.
Alongside news of the show, they've confirmed that next year will see every missing song from their back catalogue added to streaming services. The first release will be the 'Little Thoughts' EP, which will include Skeleton, but further details such as a release date are currently unconfirmed. Read the full statement from the band below.
