BTS member V has dropped a new solo single, Fri(end)s.
Featuring English vocals, the soulful R&B track marks the K-Pop idol's first single after enlisting into his mandatory military service in South Korea last December. Head below to view the song's video, which finds an alone V surrounded by couples, before switching to an alternate universe where V falls in love among unhappy couples.
Fri(end)s follows his 2023 EP, 'Layover'. Other members of BTS have also launched solo careers, with Suga putting out his debut record under his Agust D moniker, 'D-DAY', in April 2023, Jimin dropping the 'Face' EP a month earlier, and Jung Kook releasing his debut solo album, 'Golden', that November. 2022 saw RM put out his 'Indigo' LP.
J-Hope will release his new album, 'Hope On The Street Vol. 1', on March 29, alongside an accompanying six-part Prime Video docuseries, the first instalment of which will premiere on March 27.
BTS are currently on hiatus, while its members complete military service. Last summer, they put out the digital single Take Two, as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.
Through a statement made via BIGHIT MUSIC, V said “‘FRI(END)S’ is a track I recorded while searching for something special to offer my fans. It’s full of charm, so I truly believe it will be loved by ARMY.”
