Lola Young has laid out plans for a new album.

'This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway' is set to arrive via Day One/Island Records on June 21, following up her 2023 debut project 'My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely'.

Recorded in Los Angeles with producer, friend, and collaborator Solomonophic, it's teased today with a new track, Messy, an '80s-inspired pop-rock song that follows on from her previous singles Fuck, Big Brown Eyes, Intrusive Thoughts, Wish You Were Dead and Conceited. Commenting on the record, the South London singer-songwriter said:

"Here is my first born child, a fuck you to all my exes, and basically me just trying to figure out some shit openly and honestly on record. First of many and if you don’t like it, then this wasn’t meant for you anyway."

This summer, Lola Young will appear at Yungblud's Bludfest, and London's All Points East supporting Loyle Carner. She'll also play Chicago's Lollapalooza and All Things Must Go in Maryland.
