Jack White has confirmed an official release date for his surprise new album.

The mysterious record was stealthily slipped into customers' shopping bags at his Third Man Record stores earlier in July, packaged in a plain white sleeve with no information other than the title, 'No Name'. Word soon spread that it was a new White project, with leaked material appearing online alongside copies for sale at extortionate prices.

White has now confirmed the official version, the follow-up to 2022's 'Entering Heaven Alive', is set to drop onto streaming platforms this Friday (August 2).

A blue vinyl edition will be available in Third Man Records retail stores in Detroit, Nashville and London on Thursday (August 1), as well as select independent record stores worldwide the following day. A black vinyl edition will also be available via official Third Man and Jack White websites.

The DIY project was recorded, produced and mixed by White at his Third Man Studio. It was also pressed to vinyl by Third Man Pressing and is being released by Third Man Records.

White will play a show in Atlanta, Georgia tonight (July 31), followed by festivals in South Korea, Sweden, Norway and Denmark in August. He'll also perform at Desert Daze, California in October.

'No Name' tracklist:

3. That’s How I’m Feeling
4. It’s Rough on Rats (If You’re Asking)
