Rialto have returned with details of their first album in 24 years.
'Neon & Ghost Signs' will arrive through Fierce Panda on April 25, following up 2001's 'Night On Earth' and their 1998 self-titled LP. It was produced by Rialto singer and songwriter Louis Eliot, and Tam Johnstone, with mixing by Cenzo Townsend.
The idea for the reunion came about six years ago after Rialto was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery while holidaying in Spain. He explained:
“What you might think is if you have a very close to death experience you want to start looking after yourself. I just went chasing full speed after my youth. I was just like, fuck it, I might not be here next week, I'm just going to dive in.”
Alongside the news, Rialto have shared the first single and the record's opening track, No One Leaves This Discotheque Alive, a danceable, strings-laden indie-pop song that evokes themes of the seedy glamour of nocturnal London.
Rialto will headline The Scala in London on May 14, following a series of in-store shows between April 27 and May 1. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on January 17.
