Bauhaus' Peter Murphy has shared a new single, Swoon.
Produced by Youth, the gothy, propulsive offering draws on '80s-era synth-rock and features guest vocals from Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor. Murphy said:
“I am both in the state of swoon as are my audience when witnessing my live performance. Trent Reznor cordially accepted my invitation to appear on the song, adding a welcome vibe on the second verse, as well as throughout the entire song in the form of backing vocalizing.”
The song will appear on Murphy's new album, 'Silver Shade', which he described is, "as powerful as any of my work to date." It's due out on May 9 via Metropolis Entertainment.
Recorded with Youth at his studio in Spain, the collection marks the second full-length release from the pair, following 2014's 'Lion'. Although a tracklist has not yet been revealed, it's unlikely that Murphy's 2024 duet with Boy George, Let The Flowers Grow, will be included as the press release for the new record references Swoon as the first track to be shared from the project.
Murphy will appear at Milton Keynes' Forever Now festival in June.
Nine Inch Nails, meanwhile, recently announced the Peel It Back Tour, which includes dates in Europe, the UK and North America throughout the summer.
