Montreal rockers Wolf Parade have announced four UK performances set to take place later this year in September.
Having already announced that the band will be releasing their third full length album ‘Expo ‘86’ this summer, Wolf Parade have now confirmed four gigs across England as part of the band’s spring/summer world tour.
With the album scheduled for release in July, Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner spoke to Pitchfork.com about the extensive writing sessions prior to recording, “We started writing in late October or early November, and we ended up writing about 15 songs. We tracked all of them. So we got about 80 minutes of music to work into a product, basically, into something.
Boeckner Continued, “At this point, I don’t know whether it’ll be a double album. I’d really love to just release a single album and then, later on, an extended EP. But we’re still trying to figure out what format to put all the stuff out in. We want to release it all. I don’t feel that any of the songs are ugly cousins or duds.”
In comparison, Wolf Parade’s previous two albums ‘At Mount Zoomer’ and ‘Apologies to the Queen Mary’ were both under 50 minutes in running time.
Wolf Parade will play the following UK dates:
September 2010
9th Brudnell Social Club, Leeds
11th Thekla, Bristol
13th Nottingham Rescue Rooms, Nottingham
15th HMV Forum, London
