Hot 8 are a brass band based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Blending hip hop, jazz and funk styles, the band formed in 1995 but truly came to prominence in 2006 when they were featured in Spike Lee’s documentary, When The Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, about Hurricane Katrina. This led to them signing with Tru Thoughts records, going on to release their debut album 'Rock With The Hot 8' the following year. They have since put out a total of seven albums to date, with the most recent being 2017's 'On The Spot'. The Hot 8 Brass Band are set to tour the UK and Ireland in March 2025.
