Joan Jett is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress from Wynnewood, Pennsylvania.
Regarded as a rock icon and hugely influential figure in rock music, Jett is often referred to as the "Godmother of Punk" and the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll". She co-founded and performed with The Runaways between 1975 and 1979, releasing four albums. Following the breakup of the band, she went solo with and The Blackhearts as her backing group in 1979, dropping her debut solo album, 'Joan Jett', in 1980. She went on to release a further 11 albums with The Blackhearts, their most recent releases being the 2023 six-song digital EP, 'Mindsets', and 2022's 'Changeup', their first all-acoustic album. In 2015, Jett and The Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Joan Jett and The Blackhearts have scheduled a Las Vegas residency at the House of Blues Las Vegas for June 2025.
