Sam Ryder is a singer-songwriter from Essex.

First gaining a following as the frontman of metalcore bands Blessed By A Broken Heart and Close Your Eyes, he began to gain more mainstream fame after posting covers of songs on TikTok. He amassed 8 million followers in his first year of using the platform alone, with TikTok revealing that his account was the most popular UK artist profile of 2020.

Since posting his viral videos, he famously represented the UK in the 2022 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with his single Space Man, placing first in the first in the jury vote and second overall – the UK's best result since 1998. His debut album, 'There's Nothing But Space, Man!', followed that same year, with Ryder going on to become a massive success across the world, performing at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in Wembley Stadium.
