Following the recent awesome addition of British heavy metal frontrunners Saxon, the bill for Planet Rock's Steelhouse Festival just got even bigger and better.
UK melodic rock giants Magnum will join Saxon and guitar great Michael Schenker (on his Temple Of Rock and Lovedrive Reunion Tour) for the festival that takes place over the weekend of July 27th and 28th.
Also, in line with the festival’s commitment to the best new talent, rising South Wales band Dead Shed Jokers have also been confirmed, along with Heaven's Basement, The Temperance Movement, Fighting Wolves and Buffalo Summer, with even more bands to be added to the bill in coming weeks!
Magnum formed in Birmingham in 1972. Their breakthrough album ‘On A Storyteller’s Night’ remains one of the best-loved rock records of the 80s and their era-defining ‘Wings Of Heaven’ went on to garner the hit singles ‘Days Of No Trust’ and ‘Start Talking Love’. Some 40 years into their career, Magnum are still helmed by original singer Bob Catley (pictured) and Tony Clarkin, and they’re a fitting, warmly welcomed addition to the stage of Planet Rock’s Steelhouse Festival.
Now in its third consecutive year, the family-friendly Steelhouse Festival will be sited on farmland nestling the beautiful Welsh countryside of Gwent. Camping, free parking and other facilities available on site over the whole weekend, and children under 14 can enter free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. The Early Bird Tickets have now sold out, however, Weekend Passes are available for just £65.00. Tickets can be bought at www.steelhousefestival.com, or by calling 01495 370080 (national call rates apply).
The first Steelhouse Festival was held in 2011, with an even more successful follow-up last year. Over 5000 fans have attended the event to enjoy established rock bands including The Quireboys, Feeder and Reef and emerging acts such as Saint Jude, The Union and Gentlemans Pistols.
This year the festival is set to grow even bigger, with bona-fide legends Saxon, Michael Schenker and Magnum topping the bill, more exciting bands to be announced, and now a partnership with Planet Rock, the UK’s leading classic rock radio station.
