One Direction are on their way to claiming top spot in the UK album chart with their latest effort, 'Midnight Memories'.
The band shifted 145,000 copies of their third album in just three days, also putting them in the running for the fastest-selling record of 2013. Daft Punk sold 165,000 copies of 'Random Access Memories' in their first week on sale earlier this year.
The former X Factor group are currently ahead of Gary Barlow, with 'Since I Saw You Last', Robbie Williams' ‘Swings Both Ways’ (which became the 1000th UK #1 last week), OllyMurs’ ‘Right Place Right Time’ and Boyzone’s‘BZ20’. In fact, they've shifted more records than their rivals combined.
