The brief and lyrically blunt track was produced by Evan Blair, BillenTed, and Upsahl, with the latter also co-writing the song with the Essex vocalist. It follows her 2022 single Psycho featuring Aitch. She said:
“SAD B!TCH is a song about not being sad anymore. Whether you’ve had a break-up, lost someone, you’re feeling down or just hate your boss. It’s time for happiness. It’s time for a change of plan. Time to put yourself first. Time to turn the page. Leave it behind and start again. A new chapter, a new storyline. A new you.”
Anne-Marie is currently working on her third album, the follow-up to her 2021 LP 'Therapy', though no further details have been confirmed.
Anne-Marie was recently announced for Radio 1's Big Weekend, and this summer will also play festival sets and outdoor shows in the UK and Ireland.
