Formed by in 1987 by Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, the band are massively influential in their genre and beyond, known for their trailblazing fusion of hip hop with experimental jazz and soul, they have put out 11 albums to date, with the latest being 2014's '...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin'. Also recognised for being Jimmy Fallon's house band since 2009, the band have collaborated with the likes of Erykah Badu, Patrick Stump, Shakira, Mary J. Blige and John Legend, as well as earning three Grammys for their work. The Roots will play a handful of Australian shows in January 2025.
