Palm Reader have announced their second album.
The follow-up to 2018's 'Braille' is called 'Sleepless' and will arrive on October 30 through Holy Roar Records, marking their first release for the label.
Explaining how the record is partly inspired by Grayson Perry’s 2016 book The Descent of Man and the issue of toxic masculinity, vocalist Josh Mckeown said:
"That attitude can tear people apart. I’ve seen it happen to people. I've been scared of it happening to myself. It’s a subject that I‘ve particularly gravitated towards of late."
We spoke with the Nottingham-based band last summer about writing and recording the new album. Head here to check out that interview and below for the record's artwork, tracklist and the video for its first single, Hold/Release. The track is a hardcore epic, effortlessly navigating numerous musical ideas as McKeown delivers an impassioned vocal performance.
'Sleepless' tracklist:
Hold/Release
Stay Down
Ending Cycle
Willow
A Bird And Its Feathers
Islay
False Thirst
Brink
A Love That Tethers
Both Ends Of The Rope
