Mastodon have shared a new track, Sickle And Peace.
The song marks the latest preview of the Atlanta rockers' upcoming studio album, 'Hushed And Grim', following previous cuts Teardrinker and Pushing The Tides.
Clocking in at over six minutes, the song twists and turns through different styles, opening with a haunting lullaby-esque message before progressive melodic passages and bursts of impassioned heavy moments.
The follow-up to 2017's Grammy Award-winning 'Emperor Of Sand' is due out on October 29 via Reprise Records, marking the band's first double album.
They also put out their 'Medium Rarities' compilation in 2020, and dropped new songs for the Bill & Ted Face The Music and Dark Nights: Death Metal soundtracks.
Mastodon will embark on a co-headline North American tour with Opeth in November, and return to the UK's Download festival in summer 2022, following the event's cancellation in 2020 and 2021.
