Less Than Jake have released a new single called Broken Words.
The track marks the Gainesville ska-punks' first original music in years, and offers their familiar earworm pop-punk sound. Built around a prominent guitar riff and bright horn arrangements, it looks at themes of miscommunication and messages lost in translation. Bassist and co-vocalist Roger Lima said:
"Hey guys! 2024 brings us some new LTJ songs, and this is a fun one! Broken Words has the ska, the pop-punk, and the horn lines that feel like a party and I can’t wait to belt this one out on stage!
"It happens to me, too. I’ll try to say something, (maybe I didn’t choose the best words, but I tried), they get misinterpreted and I end up unintentionally communicating something I didn’t mean at all. Know that feeling? Yeah, words are totally broken sometimes."
Check out the single's artwork below, which reveals the first piece of a treasure map, with more pieces to be revealed in due course.
Less Than Jake perform across Europe this summer, before heading back to the US for their Final Visit To Rockview Tour. The band's latest album is 'Silver Linings', which was released in 2020 and followed by a deluxe edition in 2022.
