Download Festival is an annual rock and metal music festival that takes place at Donington Park, Derby in June.
The event began in 2003 as a follow-up to the Monsters of Rock Festival, which took place at Donington Park between 1980 and 1996. Download has attracted some of the biggest and most legendary artists in rock and metal, including Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Slipknot, Queens Of The Stone Age, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, KISS, Faith No More, Slipknot, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me The Horizon, Fall Out Boy, Biffy Clyro, Aerosmith, System Of A Down, Ozzy Osbourne and AC/DC. Derby Donington Park on July 12 2014
I went on Saturday to see headliner LINKIN PARK for Download 2014. It was certainly one of the most amazing experiences ever. I got to see some of my favourite bands grace the main stage and socialise with the crowd around me who, contrary to popular belief, are extremely friendly and respectful. Download has been a tradition for years in Donington Park and has not failed to deliver anything less than outstanding once.
