The longlist for the BBC's Sound of 2019 prize has been unveiled.
Women dominate the 10-strong list of newcomers tipped for success in the annual tastemaker poll, which has shrunk from 15 in previous years.

King Princess
Mahalia
Octavian
Rosalía
Sea Girls
Slowthai
The top five artists will be announced from January 7, with the winner revealed on January 11. They will be voted for by 136 critics, broadcasters and DJs, including former nominees Ellie Goulding and Stormzy.
Past winners include Adele, Sam Smith, and Years and Years. Norwegian pop vocalist Sigrid took the gong for 2018.
