RZA has released a new single.
Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater Part 1 is lifted from his new albm, 'RZA vs Bobby Digital', due out on August 6. The record was executive produced by DJ Scratch and finds the Wu-Tang Clan member fighting with his alter ego Bobby Digital. RZA said:
“Lyrically the hip-hop part of me had a chance to re-emerge during quarantine. Giving Scratch the reins as a producer and me taking the reins as an MC, that's what frees me up creatively and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don't have to be focused on everything. He (Scratch) delivered tracks that resonated and brought me back to a sound that I felt was missing. For me it was really natural for me to flow and write to these songs”
The new song finds RZA spitting impassioned bars as bass-heavy beats and a dramatic, Kung-Fu movie-esque melody play.
RZA revived his Bobby Digital moniker for the first time in 13 years this April when he released the single Pugilism. However, the press release for the new album confirms that this will not appear on 'RZA vs Bobby Digital', but another solo project also due out in 2021, 'Bobby Digital: Digital Potions'.
